| The BB-4 USFS approved
under Spec. 5100-273c. powered by a twin cylinder Briggs & Stratton, 16 hp
engine and utilizing a 4 stage centrifugal pump end, the BB-4 offers
unsurpassed performance. The quick change pump end provides a unique
standardization of components with the Mark 3 Back Pak Pumper for wildland
fighting. The BB-4 is designed to have a performance range which
provides true versatility during field use. High pressure capabilities
to operate booster lines or deliver water thru long hose lays in rugged
terrain. Higher gallonage flow is available for multiple hose lays with
medium pressures, such as are used during rural fire fighting or with
prescribed burning. This pump is designed for use on
tankers or self contained slip-on units.
The pump is designed to take rough treatment, handle muddy water
and can be run by unskilled operators.
